Lowedaal Five String Double Bass

I have owned only one five string bass in my career, and sadly for what ever reason I had to give it up. It was originally a four string, though had been converted in the Eighties by the previous owner, with an unimposing tuner sticking out of the pegbox. While I’ve only ever owned one five string bass I have played plenty, and this one, though quite small, competed with the best. Both the low B and E strings were loud and spoke quickly, and the top was pretty competitive. In the end it’s size was the deciding factor in parting with it. Not too big, but too small. The difference in stop length and body size was too great between the Lowendaal and my Lott that sadly I sold it a few years ago. I do have these photos to remember it by though. I will add to the single front photo below in time.
