In this new recording of Colin Brumby’s suite, Australian double bassist Jeremy Watt covers all four lines himself, and in doing so creates the ideal consort, blending four parts from one instrument seamlessly. Immerse yourself in the sonorous world of the double bass consort. Brumby embraces the instrument’s visceral nature, creating dark canyons and soaring cathedrals in this rarely explored sonic landscape.

Currently a member of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and a visiting teacher in chamber music at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Jeremy has an avid interest in ensemble playing. Some of his future releases on Luminate Records will explore chamber music repertoire of other instruments, in new arrangements featuring the unique timbre of an all double bass setting.
