Before taking on his current job as Sub Principal Double Bass in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 2018, Jeremy spent 14 years forging a highly successful freelance career in the UK, working regularly with the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He has made guest principal appearances in various European orchestras in Spain and Norway, having begun his professional career at home in Australia, working with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra and OzOpera, the touring arm of Opera Australia.

He feels fortunate to have worked with some of the world’s great soloists and conductors including Bernard Haitink, Lorin Maazel, Gustavo Dudamel, Esa Pekka Salonen, Kurt Masur, Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, Andrew Nelsons, Neville Mariner, Herbert Blomstedt, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and soloists Luciano Pavarotti, Gil Shaham, Hilary Hahn, James Ehnes, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yuja Wang, Evgeny Kissin, Boris Berezovsky and Denis Matsuev to name a few.

Jeremy teaches at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as an assistant to Thomas Martin.
