Chamber and Soloist

Jeremy’s debut recording release on Luminate Records is of one of the cornerstones of the double bass chamber music repertoire- Colin Brumby’s Suite for Four Double Basses. Having a special interest in chamber music he founded Magnetic Chamber in 2012, a London based collective that sought to move chamber music out of the usual formal venues and into less common settings such as pubs and clubs. Jeremy has tutored Chamber Music at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as part of his role as a visiting lecturer.

The Brumby Quartet EP is available from the Luminate Records Store in MP3, 16 bit and 24 bit FLAC and Apple Lossless formats.

The original streaming version (16 bit only) can still be streamed on the usual major platforms.

As a soloist, Jeremy has appeared both in recordings and on stage. He was described by Alex Ross from New Yorker magazine as the “manically dancing, shouting” double bassist for his part in the world premier of Stockhausen’s Mittwoch aus Licht for the Birmingham Opera Company in 2012. This outlandish behaviour isn’t typical of all his solo performances, though Jeremy does endeavour to bring as much energy as he can to every performance, be it onstage with 80 of his orchestral colleagues, or alone in recital.

Jeremy’s debut solo release, his own arrangement for double bass and ukulele of Henry Eccles’ Sonata in G minor, is available at Luminate Records in mp3, Apple Lossless & FLAC in 16 bit and 24 bit downloads. It’s now also available to stream and download from all the regular sites, including:
